Hurricane Season is approaching

“Hurricane Season is fast approaching, so be sure you have completed your Pre-Season checks and your staff know what their crisis roles are in the event of a hurricane.
It looks like we may have the first named event of the season, off the Carolinas USA, even before the Season starts – so certainly, it is not time to be complacent.
I know some of you have read the reports about “Hurricane Crabs” on the Brac – do not become fixated on this event as an omen of gloom – there are very rational explanations for it and it certainly does not necessarily mean we are going to be hit by a major hurricane this season.
Equally, do not become totally relaxed because the Seasonal Forecasts (to date) indicate a less intense season than normal – as I have always said – it only takes one major hurricane strike for it to become a very intense season for us in at least one or two of the Cayman Islands!
Do not loose awareness of all the other risks that your business faces but it is now time to raise awareness of hurricanes once more”
